One months interviews in one week!

Leisure Team Manager, Tony Yerasimou (AKA Tony the Tiger!) made 31 interviews last week beating all records for the most interviews arranged in one week!

It has been the strongest sign so far that companies are regaining confidence and rehiring staff. Vacancy levels at New Frontiers have doubled in the last few weeks with some companies recruiting in volume.

Whilst these vacancies represent ‘critical hires’ (the minimum staff you need to run the business), it’s the increased confidence in making hiring decisions which is most apparent. Roles most in demand are Reservations Agents, Product Managers, Sales and Marketing Managers, Commercial and Executive roles. If you work in any of these areas, we need to hear from you now!

At first I thought this upturn in business may be due to a last minute summer holiday booking frenzy (and it still could be!) However, New Frontiers is a member of TEAM, which is a network of over 300 privately owned Recruitment Agencies, who network together to fill vacancies. I am the London Regional Director of TEAM and at our meeting last week, all the Recruitment Agencies present reported an upturn in vacancies registered.

The recruitment sectors represented were IT, Automotive, Commercial, Research, Call Centres, Social Care and Education. In fact Education is the only sector that so far hasn’t felt any effect of a recession.

Although the papers have switched their emphasis to the potential disaster of swine flu, perhaps being less doom and gloom about the economy is at least having an affect on confidence, which I believe is key to continued recovery.

SO don’t lose hope if you’ve been looking for work a long time, keep a daily eye on our job board (or register for jobs by email) and before long Tony the Tiger and his team will be calling you too!!
