A ticketing agent issues tickets against reservations which have been made in
various GDS. These may be electronic or paper tickets. Global Distribution
System is the system that travel companies use to make reservations. Some
examples of the main systems are Galileo, Sabre, Amadeus and Worldspan. Some
ticketers may issue PTA`s, TOD`s, nett and/or published fares. They may also
issue refunds against unused or partially used tickets.
Experience in Bank Settlement Plan (Uniform invoicing procedure for IATA
documents between the airlines and the IATA agencies) can be a requirement for
some positions. To become a Ticketing Agent you need to have a minimum of 1
years current ticketing experience
