Customer Service departments handle all pre- & post-departure enquiries and amendments. All major business travel management companies, tour operators, airlines, cruise and car hire companies will have a customer services department.
Pre-departure: Handling all changes to customer’s bookings as well as advising of in-resort problems, changes to their itineraries etc.
Post-departure: Handling all customer complaints regarding their holidays.
You must have exceptional face-to-face and telephone communication skills with a strong command of the English language both oral and written. An understanding of the travel industry is essential along with excellent letter writing skills.
For managerial roles within this sector you must have previous man-management skills along with an knowledge and understanding of ATOL, IATA and ABTA regulations.
