Job description:
This highly successful, specialist tour operator urgently requires an experienced Product Manager.
This well established and dynamic company is looking for the right person to work for a min of 6 months covering maternity leave.
Product Manager you will undertake an array of tasks & responsibilities: * maintain good working relationships with our suppliers, customers and distributors, to the best commercial advantage of the Company. * notify the Head of Product of any issue that threatens or undermines the legal, commercial service or quality integrity of the Company. * keep abreast of developments in the travel industry, be aware of competitor�s product and strategy, and to continually look for new and innovative product * ensure that all responsibilities and deadlines are met with total accuracy - relating to contracts, computer set-up information and brochure proofs in particular. * develop efficient working practices in the administration and communication of the product to all areas of the Company * in conjunction with the Manager to plan the Product content for all the brochures relating to your allocated areas. * to contract all land and air product at the best possible commercial terms (rate and space) for all tours including hotels, agents, river vessels, cruises, flights, transfers etc and to ensure that these are accurately administered in the UK. * to undertake additional overseas responsibilities including accuracy of hotel descriptions and photographs, reporting on standard of suppliers and agents and, when requested, on Health & Safety issues and other Destination Management matters. * to project manage all brochures under your designated areas including copywriting, pricing and proofing and , when necessary, advising and recommending on brochure style, layout and content. * to ensure that there is sufficient air and land space at all times to both maximise sales and materialisation, providing back up to Sales and Operations. * to liaise with Marketing to secure targeted funds from Tourist Boards, airlines, hoteliers and other agents and promotional activity to successfully support the product to achieve declared turnover and profits. * to promote the product internally in conjunction with Sales (training and information transference) and externally with Marketing. * to influence the net result through rate renegotiations (and effective use of these) keeping costs under control, obtaining marketing support and assisting when called upon, in the last resort, to recover cancellation fees and compensation paid to clients to re-protect clients in an emergency. * to liaise with our partner companies to ensure maximum synergy in knowledge and negotiations.
Product Manager skills and attributes: * Previous experience in a similar role * Strong negotiations skills * Experience of tour operation product management * Persuasive and dynamic personality
Product Manager remuneration package: * Excellent pro rota salary of 25K * Excellent benefit package
