Travel Role Description
Position summary
To meet and exceed customer expectations, by providing the best possible business travel solutions in the most cost-effective manner. To display a good knowledge of customer travel management and company policies
This to include:
* Booking worldwide flights & accomodation using Amadeus
* Communicating and discussing appropriate solutions
* Use of creative ticketing mechanisms at every opportunity
* Builds strong relationships with both customers and colleagues; aims for 100% account / customer retention
* Has a detailed understanding of flights, air fares, manual and automated ticketing and fare construction
* Demonstrates knowledge of both customer preferred suppliers and products, including air travel, hotels, car hire, domestic and continental rail travel, ferries. Displays ability to sell and cross-sell products, uses CRS and profiles within this in a competent manner
* Demonstrates a knowledge of health requirements, vaccinations, passport and visa legislation
* Has knowledge of the regulations of the International Air Transport Association (I.A.T.A.). Demonstrates a knowledge of domestic and international travel geography
* Shows an awareness of and interest in developments in the travel industry and our competitors.
Challenges
* To provide optimal business travel solutions to customers within company guidelines, whilst generating significant cost savings on behalf of that client
* To adhere fully to customer Travel policy and company preferred suppliers
* Understand and make a positive contribution in all areas of work; regularly make suggestions for improvement of processes, procedures and services
* To have the ability to prioritise workloads and retain a friendly, professional attitude to customer; approach complex situations with flexibility
* To be able to identify gaps in own performance and address these positively
Knowledge & skills
* Minimum of one years Reservations Travel experience
* Good communication (both verbally and written) and listening skills, when dealing with customers and colleagues
* Fares and Ticketing knowledge
* Competent use of CRS system Amadeus
* Pays close attention to detail
* Numerate
* Actively contributes to team
* Demonstrates organised approach to work and ability to manage time effectively
