We’re ‘backing young britain’!!
Whatever your political views, the Government has put a lot of attention in 2009 and continuing into 2010 to help the unemployed. New Frontiers have been running workshops twice a week since last April to help people with job hunting skills and improve their CVs. Due to our excellent work on this government contract, we have now got involved with another government initiative called ‘Backing Young Britain’!
People aged between 18 and 24 years have been caught in the recession due to their age. People older than this age group have been taking jobs at a reduced salary and hired because they have more experience than this age group. New Frontiers have become a partner for this initiative to help travel companies hire 18-24 year old workers for 8 to 13 week placements. The young person continues to receive work seekers allowance (renamed to Training Allowance for the placements) as well as valuable work experience and the company gains a free resource to help their business with the upturn in trading. This initiative is set to run to June 2011 and it is expected to find placements for 20,000 young people. If you are a travel employer, you can register for the scheme and find out more clicking on the link on our home page.
