Backing Young Britain - Limited funding – get in quick before the money runs out!

New Frontiers have been given the opportunity to help thousands of young people (18-24 year olds) gain employment in the Travel & Hospitality industries through the Backing Young Britain Government initiative campaign.

Between now and June 2011, the Government’s Backing Young Britain scheme is giving young jobseekers across the UK a chance to get valuable and practical experience at a local company. The programme will give them the work experience they need to prosper in today's tough opportunity market. These opportunities will be good for business, good for young people and good for Britain.

We need companies like yours to offer unpaid internships or work experience for non graduates who are unemployed and receiving job seekers allowance. While the young person gets a chance to develop their skills, your business will benefit from their effort and enthusiasm for 8-13 weeks at a time (internship), at least 25 hours per week or full time work experience for 2 weeks with the option of the candidate working 16 hours a week on an on-going basis after their 2 week initial work experience. You don’t actually pay money to the worker but you should ideally provide travel and lunch allowances to the candidates.

Getting involved won't cost you a penny. We'll publicise your opportunities, administer responses and assess candidates. You will be presented you with a shortlist of young people to choose from. If possible, you can offer multiple opportunities or back-to-back placements (once one young person has finished their experience with you, another steps into their place).
