Frequently Asked Questions:

1) How much can I save?
You can save up to 40% on the normal cost of travel temps.  A UK based business travel consultant costs around £14 per hour on average.  We are able to provide an equally skilled Indian employee for as little as £8.50 per hour – a saving of over 50%.  This can equate to a saving of £13,000 a year per employee!

2) Why is it so inexpensive?
Cost of living in India is much lower so we can afford to pass on the saving direct to you!  Also, you will not have to pay for any N.I contributions, sickness or holiday pay.

3) Does inexpensive mean cheap and poor quality?
No, all our the travel temps available to us are university educated with at least 3 years experience in the travel industry.  All of them have knowledge of at least one CRS and many have actually worked in the UK.

4) What kind of temps can I hire?
Almost any role is suitable for off-shoring.  For £8.50/hour we can offer you: business travel consultants, reservations consultants, ticketers, website experts, search engine experts.  For £7.50/hour we can offer data entry, administrators, fare loaders, database cleansers etc..

5) Are there any hidden costs?
No, all rates are fully inclusive.  You will simply be invoiced for how many hours the temp has worked for you at the rate of either £8.50 or £7.50 per hour.

6) I have concerns about a strong Indian accent - can I hear the Temp?
We can go one better than that.  We can provide a "Talk CV" - a cutting edge CV which has both sound and video. You can get to see and hear your Temp answer preset questions. After you have hired the temp, you will be able to dial an internal extension number and speak to your Temp daily!!!

7) How long do I have to keep the Temp for?
As long as you like.  We are confident that once everything is in place and settled in, then you will be happy to keep to the temp for a good length of time – especially as the cost is a lot less that you’d normally pay.  You can cancel the arrangement at any time and just be invoiced for how ever much you’ve used.

8) How much does it cost to forward calls to India?  Free!  Thanks to internet technology its now possible to phone around the globe free of charge e.g. via Skype or MSN messenger.  Your voice is sent over the internet, not normal telephone lines.  This technology is called “Voice over Internet”, “Voice over IP” or VOIP.

9) I’ve heard negative stories about the quality of sound – is this fair?  The quality of sound over the internet has improved greatly in recent years.  Most homes and businesses are able to have perfectly good conversations via VOIP – with a similar quality to two people speaking via mobile phones.  We are more than happy to demonstrate this for you in your office.

10) Do I need lots of new IT kit to make it work?  No, in most cases it will be possible for the Indian Temp to dial into the GDS from India using your normal entry codes.  Our technical team can go through this in more detail with you.

11) I don’t want all calls going to India, just as a last resort – is this possible?  Yes, this is the ideal solution… use your UK staff to pick up most calls but have any overflow calls seamlessly go to India.  It is possible to forward overflow calls on most telephone systems.  Our technical team can advise you on this.

12) I need someone now – how long does this all take?  It depends on the system you have and your requirements but we are able to get someone up and running in 2-5 days in most cases.  We can advise exactly once we get more details from you.

13) I like to keep an eye on my staff – how can I do that if they are in India?   We can provide up to the minute information can be viewed (e.g. live status of ticketing queues).  Call-listening and screen shots as well as daily, weekly & monthly M.I.

14) Am I protected by normal UK law against contrary actions by the Indian temp?  Yes, your rights are unaffected – you are still fully protected by UK law against any actions by that temp – just as you already are for UK based temps. On the upside, you no longer need to worry about cumbersome employment legislation regarding temporary workers acquiring rights. There are no repercussions from temporary workers for terminating temporary contracts (as there are in the UK for temps working 12 months continuous service who can potentially sue for unfair dismissal).

15 ) We have set ways of doing things, how I can train the Indian temp?  A gain, you’ll be able to make free calls direct to the temp via VOIP.  Of course, you’ll be able to send any training material via email too. In addition, a detailed ‘Service Level Agreement’ and breakdown of the job step by step is created when we commence the temporary contract.

16) I’m interested!  What do I do next? To find our more please email offshoring@newfrontiers.co.uk and we will be in touch very soon to discuss your specific requirements.
