As a Product Manager you will undertake an array of tasks & responsibilities:
• Research and develop innovative new product that meets safety and quality standards as well as commercial targets.
• Responsible for all existing and new product development.
• Product costing and pricing strategies
• Contracting and negotiating of all product content
• Product changes and supplier relationship management
• Brochure production.
• Identifying new product development opportunities through competitor analysis, and customer research to achieve competitive ground costs and contracting terms.
• To lead and coordinate the implementation of the negotiation strategy to ensure that the Company's best commercial positions are attained through sound supply agreements and/or contracts.
• To create and carry out in conjunction with the business, supplier assessment and supplier benchmarking processes.
• Liaising closely with other departments within the company to ensure the product is displayed and distributed accurately.
• Regular analysis on price and product offering with the competitors
• Promotion of tactical offers submitted to the marketing team on a regular basis
• Training and familiarisations for the trade
• Training and familiarisation for the staff
• Represent company at applicable trade shows, giving a full report on return
• Communicate monthly product activities
• Ensure supplier inventory loaded quickly and efficiently
• Secure marketing contribution throughout the year to support brochure production
• Responsible for all allocations ensuring there is update information for the sales staff and the inventory is loaded quickly and accurately
• Quality control of data loaded by the outsourced company to ensure the highest levels of accuracy are achieved
• Loading of tours and transfers
• Internal marketing of new products and offers
• Liaise with the staff on a regular basis gaining market feedback; offering product support to the sales teams and the development staffs destination knowledge.
Product Manager Skill attributes:
• Extensive experience in a similar role
• Proven management skills
• Knowledge of successful marketing principles and methods for developing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, and sales techniques
• Relevant knowledge of the Tourism Industry
• Knowledge of Long haul Worldwide destinations
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel overseas
• A foreign language is useful but not essential
