July 2010 update: The ball was a triumph raising a staggering £6500. A big thank you for all the donations received for the auction and prize draw.
Tracey Drinkwater, Temp & Contracts Manager at New Frontiers has organised a Fundraising Ball on the 25th June for her stepson Billy who was recently seriously injured whilst serving in Afghanistan.
In January this year while on his third tour in Afghanistan as a corporal, he was injured by an I. D bomb. Billy lost one eye and the family are praying for sight in the other, however as it was badly damaged, to date he is unable to see. His face is badly disfigured and has limited use of his left arm.
The reason for this Ball is to raise as much needed funds for laser/ reconstructive surgery to his face and gain a second opinion from a specialist eye consultant, to see if there is a procedure which will help him see.
We would greatly appreciate your help and will accept any kind of donation for the auction/raffle prize.
As a country we pride ourselves on preserving our freedom and protecting our way of life. Billy has always believed in the work he did in Afghanistan and believed he made a difference. Please help us by doing something that would make a tremendous difference to Billy.
